THE AUTHOR
Scott Goetchius is a novelist and short story writer, an award
winning essayist and a nationally known spoken-word artist. He competed in the 1997, ‘98, ‘99, and 2000 National
Slam Poetry Championships, and in1999, he participated in the Individual
Class Competition, presenting the top ten poets at the Nationals. That
November, he appeared in the broadcast about slam poetry on ‘60 Minutes.’
Since then his fiction and poetry have appeared in ‘The Village Voice,’ ‘The
Underwood Review,’ ‘Vietnam Generation,’ and ‘Poeticas.’ An essay, Old
Yarn, received the ‘George L. Knapp Award for Essay.’ His health articles
were recently published in ‘PN Magazine’
(Paraplegia News), a nationally distributed monthly periodical.
